Village Election Information

  1. Election Date is Wednesday November 13, 2024 polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  2. The advanced pole will be held Monday November 4, 2024, advancedpolls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  3. All Council positions including Mayor are up for election.
  4. The first call for nominations will be posted in the Northern Pride on September 12, 2024.
  5. We will accept nominations until 4:00 p.m. at the Village office Wednesday October 9, 2024.
  6. As per the Village of Loon Lake Bylaw 1/2012 a current (not less than 6-months) criminal record check must be submitted with the nomination form for it to be deemed valid and accepted at the Village office.
    1. Currently the RCMP are only doing criminal record checks by appointment, so please don’t leave it until the last minute. 
  7. If we do not receive enough nominations to fill all the positions a second call for nominations will be posted in the newspaper October 17, 2024 (and online)
    1. If we receive the proper number of nominations for all positions, we will post in the newspaper (and online) abandonment of pole and an election will not be required.
  8. If further call for nominations is required, we will accept nominations until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 23, 2024.
  9. The location of the election, if required, will be determined at a later date.
